Launch of CABRI's Budget Practices and Procedures Report 2025
Ten (10) years after the previous edition of CABRI’s Budget Practices and Procedures (BPP) Survey, African countries have once again participated in a continent-wide review of how public finances are managed in practice. The Survey provides a comprehensive review of budgeting systems across the continent at a time of significant fiscal and institutional change.
The launch of the 2025 BPP Survey Report aims to:
- Provide evidence-based insights into the key challenges facing Public Financial Management (PFM) systems across Africa.
- Present a comparative analysis of budget practices and procedures across participating countries, including findings from the 2025 Survey, highlighting areas of progress, persistent challenges, and lessons to inform the design and implementation of effective budget reform.
- Offer insights into good country practices that address identified PFM gaps, strengthen institutional capability, and enhance overall budget effectiveness across diverse African contexts.
