CABRI is busy capturing African leadership stories in digital Public Financial Management.
Kenya is amongst the countries that have been earmarked for this exciting project.
Last week, Marguerite Ndew CISS, Executive of the Public Finance division and Winnie Kemunto Mageto, Programme Manager, CABRI, were in Nairobi, to record Kenya’s journey in digital PFM reform through the lens of its homegrown REFORMiS system.
From the Office of the Auditor-General to the PFM Reforms Secretariat and key MDAs, interviews were carried out with the leaders and implementers who have driven this transformation. Their insights go beyond systems. They speak to coordination, resilience, and the human effort behind digital reform.
Kenya’s REFORMiS platform has redefined how ministries, departments, and agencies collaborate moving from fragmented reporting to integrated, real-time oversight. It is a story of leadership, institutional alignment, and the power of technology to strengthen public finance outcomes.
Because reform is not just about systems. It is about people, purpose, and progress.
Ms CISS and Ms Kemunto Mageto has the opportunity to meet Mr Samuel Kiiru, Director of Planning, National Treasury of Kenya, who served on CABRI’s Management Committee for two terms and Kenya’s country representative to CABRI’s General Assembly as well as Joel Bett, the PFMR Secretariat Coordinator and Jacob Muimi, ICT Lead, PFMR Secretariat.
Kenya is one of the six founding members of CABRI.
