The 2025 CABRI BPP Survey is officially underway!

8 December 2025
BPP Informative Session

We recently launched the 2025 edition of the Budget Practices and Procedures Survey - CABRI’s flagship initiative to map and assess budgeting practices across Africa. We are pleased to share that we just completed two information sessions with participating countries to guide them on how to access, complete, and submit the survey.

Through this survey, we aim to build a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of how African countries manage public finances from budget formulation and execution, to transparency, audit, budget credibility, and institutional practices.

The BPP survey data collection will be followed by a phase of data validation, analysis, and the publication of findings. Final reports including comparative analyses, country-level insights, and policy recommendations will be shared publicly via the CABRI PFM Knowledge Hub.

We call on ministries of finance, budget and planning, as well as relevant stakeholders in government, civil society, academia, and beyond to follow the survey, contribute where possible, and prepare to engage with the data and findings once they become available

● Watch this space for regular updates (milestones, country participation, survey progress)
● Visit the CABRI website and subscribe to our newsletter! We will share results, case studies, and opportunities for peer-learning and capacity building.
● If you are a finance/budget practitioner, academic, civil-society actor, or policy-maker, get ready to use the data and insights for reform, research, oversight, or advocacy.

Together, we can strengthen PFM systems and promote accountability, transparency, and efficient public spending across Africa.
