Fred Manzi Mukombozi, Director- general for Budget Management and Reporting at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning represented Rwanda, CABRI member country since 2009, at the Management Committee and General Assembly meetings held beginning of June in The Gambia.

In this interview, he talks about the economic journey of Rwanda, the country's Vision 2050 with a strong focus on human capital development; competitiveness and integration; agriculture for wealth creation; urbanisation and agglomeration as well as accountable and capable State institutions.

"Public Financial Management (PFM) is an enabler to the implementation of that Vision," he says, adding that one of the focuses of the Vision 2050 is to digitalise PFM systems in Rwanda.

CABRI has been a valuable partner in enabling PFM reform in Rwanda through our peer-learning and exchanges as well as our support in the implementation of Programme-Based Budgeting (PBB) in the country.
